We are committed to protecting your privacy. GridZen does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to play. All game progress is stored locally on your device.

📊 Information We Collect

Information stored on your device (locally):

• Your chosen player name and avatar
• Game progress (level, stars, scores)
• Coin balance and hint count
• Daily streak and play dates
• Sound/music preferences

Information collected for advertising:

Because GridZen shows ads through Google AdMob, Google may collect a resettable Advertising ID and related ad data (see the Advertising section below). This is handled by Google, not by us.

Information we do NOT collect:

• ❌ Your real name or email address
• ❌ Phone number or contacts
• ❌ Precise location data
• ❌ Camera or microphone access
• ❌ Photos or files
• ❌ Permanent device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address)
• ❌ Browsing history

Note: The resettable Advertising ID used for ads (described below) is not a permanent identifier — you can reset or limit it at any time in your device settings.

📢 Advertising (Google AdMob)

GridZen displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads help us keep the game free for everyone.

Google AdMob may collect and use certain information to serve relevant ads, including:

• Advertising ID (a resettable identifier on your device)
• General location (country/region level only)
• Device type and operating system version
• Ad interaction data (views, clicks)

Types of ads shown in GridZen:

• Banner ads (a small banner displayed at the bottom of the screen throughout the app)
• Interstitial ads (full-screen ads shown occasionally between levels)
• Rewarded ads (optional — watch a short video to earn hints)

You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (or Reset advertising ID)

👶 Children's Privacy

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used GridZen, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

GridZen does not contain content inappropriate for children, but because the app displays third-party advertising, we recommend parental supervision for younger users.

💾 Data Storage & Security

All game data is stored locally on your device. This means:

• Your game data never leaves your device
• We have no access to your game data
• Uninstalling the app deletes all local data
• Clearing app data in device settings resets the game

We do not operate any servers that store your personal information. Advertising data is transmitted securely (encrypted in transit) and handled by Google AdMob.

🔐 App Permissions

GridZen requests only the minimum permissions needed:

• ✅ Internet access — Required to load and show ads
• ✅ Network state — To check connectivity for ads

🌍 GDPR & CCPA Compliance

EU Users (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of your personal data. Since GridZen stores all game data locally on your device and we operate no servers, you have full control at all times. Advertising data is processed by Google AdMob under their own policies and consent mechanisms.

California Users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. GridZen does not sell personal data. Ad-related data is handled by Google AdMob under their own policies.

Data Retention: Game data is stored locally on your device and retained until you uninstall the app or clear app data. We retain no data on our servers as we do not operate any.
